Search Your Journals and Sermons in One Place

“Unified search means you can find your own journal entries and sermon drafts from one search box instead of hunting through separate pages.” That is the entire point of this update. If you write daily and preach weekly, you should not have to remember where you saved a line you want to reuse.

What this gives you

  • Search your journals and sermon drafts from the main search page
  • Jump straight into the entry or sermon editor from the results
  • Keep your personal work in one searchable place

How it works (and what it does not)

Search looks at the words inside your entries and drafts, plus titles and primary Scripture references. It does not search images or attachments. If you imported a photo, the text that was extracted is searchable.

This is a Pro feature. Free users still have full access to journaling and sermon tools, but the unified search across those entries is reserved for Pro.

Search examples you can try

What you needExample searchWhat you will see
Find a past journal reflection”Lot’s wife looked back”Matching journal entries with that phrase
Locate a sermon draft by passage”Ephesians 2:8-9”Sermons where the primary Scripture matches
Surface a theme across drafts”anxiety”Sermons and journals that mention anxiety

Best practices for cleaner results

  • Use specific titles. “Psalm 23 prep” beats “Sunday draft.”
  • Add the primary Scripture line for sermons. It shows up in results.
  • Keep the plain text updated. The editor saves this automatically, but drafts with no text will not match.

Limitations and honest caveats

  • Search returns up to 20 results per content type.
  • If a draft has no text yet, it will not appear.
  • Older entries might take a moment to appear if they were created before search indexing.

FAQ

Is this available on the free plan?

No. Unified search for journals and sermons is a Pro feature.

Can I search handwritten entries?

Yes. Once the text is extracted from a photo, it becomes searchable like any other entry.

Will this search public sermons too?

This search focuses on your own drafts and entries. Public sermons live in the library and can be searched there.
